With Eid coming up in less than a week, here’s a quick and fun Eid card kids can make that’s sure to impress friends and family.

Here’s what you need:

- pencil
- scissors
- marker
- glue stick
- regular white printer paper
- card stock or construction paper
One sheet of printer paper and one sheet of card stock is enough to make two cards.
How to make the pop-up Eid card:
1. Cut the printer paper and card stock in half the long way.

2. Fold the printer paper in half, and mark two lines from the folded edge and cut along those two lines (the exact length and position of the lines is not critical, but try tot make it look like the picture below).

3. You now have a flap in the middle. Fold that up, open the card and pop that folded flap inside the card.

This is the main “building” of the masjid. Now we just need to make the dome.
4. Close the card and draw a dome shape at the folded edge. Being careful to cut through only one folded edge (there are two there), cut thin strips from that fold to the dome-shaped line that you drew.

5. Fold up each of the strips that you just cut.

6. Open the card up and pop each of those strips inside the card. Now you have a dome!

7. Fold the card stock / construction paper in half and glue it behind this pop up mosque you just made.

8. Decorate the inside and outside of the card and you’re done!

Eid Mubarak!
p.s. if you need a little help writing the Eid greetings in Arabic, here’s an Eid Mubarak writing guide where you can trace and colour “‘Eid Mubarak” in Arabic (Blessed Eid) as well as “Kullu ‘aam wa antum bi khayr” (May every year find you in good health.).
