Each card has:

  • English text
  • Arabic text
  • Arabic transliteration
  • Space for you to personalize add your own colours or drawings.

Have you ever downloaded a printable with the best of intentions to learn and teach some important concept?  But then you discover that you don’t have coloured ink in your printer?  Or you don’t have the right kind of paper?  Or you don’t feel like measuring and carefully cutting things out so you leave it for later…and later…and later…

…And then you have a folder full of pdf’s that haven’t been printed and you haven’t learned or taught whatever it is you had set out to learn in the first place?

Is it just me?

Anyways… it was just this kind of experience that inspired these business-card sized flash cards.

The flash cards are designed to be printed on perforated business card paper so you don’t have to measure or cut a thing.  Just print and tear and get perfect set of professional looking flash cards that are already on card stock.

Here’s what you need:

  • perforated business cards (I got these for less than $5 at Walmart for a pack of 100 cards)
  • crayons / markers / coloured pencils (something to add colour with)
  • black and white printer

How to make the cards:

1. Download the Arabic Colours PDF file and print on perforated business cards.  The PDF has the text nicely lined up for a sheet of 10, 2 in. x 3-1/2 in. cards.

2. Add the appropriate colour on each card.  Here I just scribbled the colour, but you can also draw shapes or images too.

3. Separate the cards along the perforations.

Some ideas on how to use the cards:

1. Cover the Arabic portion to test yourself if you know the word for that colour in Arabic.

2. Cover the English / coloured portion to see if you know what the Arabic word means.

The great thing with flash cards, is that once you realize that you’ve got one word down and know it really well, you can take it out of your pile and put it aside and then focus on the others.

3. Print two sets of the cards and play a memory game.
